Rudy Schmid, an automobile service center located in Syracuse NY, has been family-owned for over 90 years. They are a big part of the community and have generations of customers.
Challenge
Although Rudy Schmid has been in the Syracuse community for a long time, they still wanted to enhance their local digital presence. Rudy Schmid was looking for its website and Google My Business listing to play a more substantial role in local searches. Traffic was healthy but they knew they were not capturing a majority of the local traffic that they could. They were looking for a strategy to be laid out and executed to improve their website, their local listing, and especially shop reviews. Site-Seeker was brought on, as a result.
Our Work
We immediately embarked on a local strategy. We focused on a new website and their local listings. We put together a Google Reviews plan for current customers. We then developed a new website and produced more content pages that focused on their location and more industry-specific keywords.
Results
Local optimization and the Google Reviews program have continued for a few years now. Knowing the results from SEO work sometimes takes time to be appreciated, but can have long term effects if you continue to work on it. We examined website traffic, year over year and overall traffic (excluding any paid traffic) is up 46%. Since the Google reviews program has been in place, they have gotten over 195 reviews just on Google and hold an average star rating of 4.7 which is hard to do. They have also seen an increase in Google My Business traffic. For a one-year period, their Google My Business listing has had over 144 thousand impressions with 64% of those impressions being from users who don’t use branded search terms. They have had over seven thousand total actions taken from their Google My Business listing in a 12 month period including three thousand phone calls.
